Job Summary:

To provide for the maintenance and repair of GreyStone Power Fleet vehicles and equipment in a safe and proper operating condition.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspects vehicles and equipment as part of the preventative maintenance program.

2. Identifies problems with vehicles and line equipment and makes the necessary mechanical repairs.

3. Performs repairs to hydraulic and electronic systems as directed.

4. Replaces engines, drive trains, and equipment components as directed.

5. Tunes engines as directed.

6. Performs minor welding and fabrication as necessary: safely operating gas and arc welding equipment.

7. Performs service work on all vehicles such as changing oil, lubrication, tire work, brake repair, etc.

8. Performs complete operational testing of vehicles and equipment complying with all safety standards and manufacturer’s instructions beforecompletion.

9. Prepares written record of all maintenance and repairs performed, carefully completing time sheets, service orders forms, and any other document required to properly record work.

10. Maintains personal tools as required.

11. Maintains a neat and orderly work area.

12. Makes road service calls when necessary.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
  • Requires two years’ experience in vehicle maintenance and mechanic work. Auto shop at the high school or tech school level may be substituted for the two years’ work experience.
  • Must have the ability to operate vehicle shop equipment.
  • Must have the physical dexterity to handle a variety of mechanical tools.
  • Prefer experience in medium/heavy truck mechanics and hydraulic systems.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Georgia commercial driver’s license.
  • Must satisfactorily pass GreyStone Power’s employment physical examination, criminal background and required drug screen.

Physical Demands (if applicable):

General truck shop environment, working while standing most of the day. Requires lifting, pulling, and pushing 50 to 150 pounds multiple times per day. Climbing on trucks and equipment, bending, kneeling, and reaching with hands and arms, levering with large wrenches and pry bars. Exposed to exhaust fumes, sanding dust, paint fumes and other garage related chemicals. Some field work in mud, rain, and snow as needed to repair vehicles or equipment that have broken down. Requires the flexibility to be called to work in company defined disaster situations. Could be required to work any shift.
