Eversource Energy Auto Mechanic B in Dorchester, Massachusetts

TRAININGLOCATION:Wareham, MA (permanent location determined after training, most likely Dorchester, MA)

STARTING RATE OF PAY:$42.62 per hour

SCHEDULE: VariousShifts

Description:

The title Automobile Mechanic designates employees engaged in the servicing, repairing, reconditioning, fitting, and maintaining of automotive and trailer type vehicles, and associated construction and maintenance equipment.

Under close supervision, assists employees of higher rating. Performs work under directive supervision in the shop and under general supervision in the field. Directs and instructs employees of lower rating.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to perform physical work under a wide variety of working conditions and on shifts during hours other than normal and at times for extended periods.

2. Must have working knowledge of the principles, functions, operation and care of internal combustion engines/diesel engines and a basic knowledge of the repair and maintenance of automotive equipment normally gained in two years’ experience.

3.CDL Driver’s License preferred. Must obtain a CDL Class A Driver’s License within six months of becoming a Grade B.

Emergency Response:

Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment.  This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
