*Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
The Oracle financial applications analyst provides advanced functional and technical expertise and guidance for the implementation and support of the Oracle financials applications suite.
Provides functional and technical customer support for Oracle financials software and associated interfaces. (30-70%)
Works with DBA and UNIX teams to monitor and tune performance of the system, develops and implements backup and recovery procedures, performs installations and applies patches and upgrades to all components of the Oracle applications framework. (30-35%)
Provides technical input to assist in development of project planning. (20-60%)
Performs Oracle applications administrative tasks such as profiles, menus, flex fields, value sets, concurrent managers and registering forms and reports with the application object library. (20-30%)
Performs research and fact finding to develop or modify application programs. Includes working with vendors to review quality, adaptability and compatibility of their products. (10-15%)
Evaluates user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current systems and computer capabilities. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives. Assists in creation of functional specification with users and technical specifications with technical team members. (10-15%)
Designs, codes, tests, documents, implements and maintains more complex application programs. (5-10%)
Performs any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%)
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related technical field or equivalent work experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
The Oracle Financial Application Analyst position requires four years experience in programming or systems analysis. The Senior Oracle Financial Application Analyst position requires six years experience in programming or systems analysis.
Two years experience with Oracle database or similar relational database.
Two years experience with UNIX or advance operating systems.
Technical and functional understanding of different Oracle financial applications modules.
Advanced knowledge of programming in client/server or Web development environment.
Knowledge of information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions and major vendors.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Availability for periodic on-call responsibilities.
Ability to travel on an occasional basis.
