Xcel Energy has a bold Electric Vehicle (EV) vision to see 1.5 million EVs on our roads by 2030. We are seeking to hire 2 directors to help us achieve this ambitious goal. Of these positions, one will support Residential EV programs and one will support Commercial EV programs. These can be based in Denver, CO; Minneapolis, MN; or Eau Claire, WI, or Madison, WI.

During COVID-19 Pandemic this position may require the ability to temporarily work remote within the company service territory until company protocol dictates return to the office criteria has been met.

Position Summary

Lead enterprise-wide electric transportation and other forms of clean transportation (collectively, EV) customer segment toward increased revenue, earnings, and customer loyalty with a focus on excellent customer experience, regulatory compliance and enterprise coordination. Design, build, and manage products and services aligned with these objectives for all program areas excluding infrastructure. Among other programs, includes: (1) advisory/educational programs; (2) rebates; and (3) charging optimization. Set sales targets, deploy sales strategies, and achieve annual sales plan. Champion segment opportunity with customers, stakeholders, policy makers, and internal business partners. Advance and balance long-term interests in rapidly changing technology and market space.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Strategy – Responsible for developing and implementing EV segment strategy and plans. Provide clear and effective communication of the organization’s vision, mission and key objectives to support larger jurisdictional and enterprise goals. Coordinate with EV policy/regulatory teams as well as operating companies on modified and new program strategy for the segment.

  • Talent Management –Attract, recruit, and retain a highly motivated and engaged workforce. Establish and communicate clear performance expectations. Foster a culture consistent with our values: trustworthy, safe, collaborative, and connected.

  • Relationships – Act as business area liaison with key customers, stakeholders, policy makers, and internal business partners. Advance long-term, enterprise-wide segment strategy through collaboration.

  • Operations – Ensure programs and services meet sales targets, serve customer needs, and are delivered on time/on budget. Maintain accurate records, fulfilling all compliance and reporting requirements. Responsible for leading the development of sound business cases that help meet product growth, profitability and customer service targets.

  • Industry Leadership – Cultivate and maintain industry leadership. Influence technical standards, drive best practices, represent the company and the industry.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Product Marketing or business development/planning experience, Engineering, or related field.

  • MBA strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 6 years relevant utility experience, product management/marketing or similar experience, including 5 years of organizational leadership.

  • Demonstrated leadership and operational capabilities.

  • Successful track record implementing strategies that cross enterprises, business units and professional disciplines.

  • Proven ability to engage with executive leadership, policy makers, and media.

This position requires a behavioral assessment prior to being considered for an interview.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $109,000 to $177,800 per year
