Summary: Performs cleaning and building maintenance duties both inside and outside the facility.

Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety.
Performs general janitorial and related duties as assigned in the warehouse and production areas. Uses proper equipment, procedures and cleaning supplies when cleaning these areas as well as proper safety precautions when handling hazardous chemicals.
Cleans windows, vents, fixtures, walkways, steps and restrooms in the warehouse and production areas. Handles unscheduled duties as requested.
Removes snow from walks and steps with a shovel, tractor or snow blower as appropriate for amount and location of snow. Keeps sand and salt on walks and steps during icy/slippery conditions. Monitors weather conditions and determines when snow removal or ice treatment is necessary. Utilizes proper safety precautions when performing snow removal to avoid injury. Keeps doorways cleared per OSHA requirements.
Assists with office equipment moves and meeting set-ups as needed or requested. Uses proper lifting techniques when moving furniture and large pieces to avoid injury.
Performs scheduled routine maintenance on air conditioning systems, exhaust fans, furnaces and radiant heating systems.
Maintains chemical coolant mixing for production areas using refractometer.
Cleans machinery sumps for production equipment.
Maintains building grounds by mowing lawn weekly, picking up litter daily, pulling weeds, painting, etc.
Maintains office and shop lighting and recycling, including replacement, disposal and record keeping in accordance with EPA policies.
Cleans and maintains office rugs and changes on regularly scheduled basis.
Maintains and services custodial maintenance equipment on scheduled basis to include tractor, mower and floor scrubber.
Participates fully in Company Five Pillars Program.
Performs continual Five Pillars audit during the workday.
Informs supervisory personnel of successes as well as areas in need of improvement as a result of Five Pillars audits.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Experience and Skills Required: At least one year of recent related experience that includes the following skills and abilities:
General knowledge of materials, methods and practices used in cleaning and related custodial operations.
General knowledge of operation of janitorial equipment and power tools related to general maintenance.
Working knowledge of chemical mixing and using refractometer.
Fully comprehends the Five Pillars concept as outlined in Hiroyuki Hirano’s workbook.
Skill in using cleaning and gardening tools, equipment and materials.
Ability to perform routine building maintenance activities in an effective, efficient manner.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.
Ability to understand and follow routine oral and written instructions.
