MidAmerican Energy Company Senior Billing Specialist-URS in Davenport, Iowa
The senior billing specialist is responsible for assigning and directing the workload of the billing specialists. The senior billing specialist also completes daily billing activities, managing tax exemption certificates, training new personnel and temporary personnel, resolving billing issues, and the analysis of billing reports. This person assists in the development, implementation and training of new processes for competitive marketing billing.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
Plans and assigns work to billing specialists. This includes establishing priorities for the group to follow. Recommends changes to priorities to ensure customer billing assignments are completed in required timeframes with desired accuracy levels. (25%)
Interpret customer contracts. Establish billing account for each contract. Monitor the production of monthly billing for unregulated customers for accuracy and timeliness. (15%)
Effectively researches and takes the appropriate action on a customer's account concerning a variety of complex billing issues, including review of delivery companies' rate tariffs, system rate changes and implementation of rate changes on manually created bills. Document and communicate these issues and actions with internal customers, external agencies and vendors. (30%)
Assist in development of efficient billing procedures for competitive marketing. Utilize tools for information to produce internal data reports for customers and creation of bills. (20%)
Assist with complex special projects and other duties as necessary. (10%)
May serve as a team leader. (10%)
Act in a support role performing other functions that may be required to develop or manage the company's electric and natural gas products including providing technical support. (10%)

Associate's degree in business, liberal arts or equivalent work experience. (Typically three years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree.)
Four years of related work experience.
Strong personal computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Access.
Demonstrated understanding of basic electric and natural gas terminology and characteristics preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Outstanding degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
