Become a Senior Application Developer at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll will be part of the Digital Automation Center of Excellence team within the Customer Service Operations Division and will co-lead in the development and administration of a team of robots within the Revenue Services Organization. You will focus on developing and maintaining process automations utilizing a vendor Robotics tool (UiPath) across the department. You will interact closely with all levels of employees and leaders to develop the automation process that will replace the human interaction within the identified process.
As a key member of the Robotics Center of Excellence team, leading the automation of core business processes across the Customer Service Operating Unit. You will assist in developing the short and long term robotics strategy and work closely with robotics team to develop and implement automation solutions across varying business processes ranging from back-office billing to front-office functions. Day-to-day responsibilities will require on-call support/monitoring and maintenance of existing automated processes, teaming with process analysts and the vendor to develop new automation processes, developing the scheduling of the robots and working closely with IT partners to successfully manage the operations of the Digital Center of Excellence.

Provide consultation on robotics opportunities to all levels of stakeholders across SCE as the robotics subject matter expert. Assess business process automation capabilities while providing recommendations and strategy to implement robotic solutions across Customer Service Operations.
Analyze and interpret data, develop alternatives, share findings and recommendations, and consult with department, client organization, and/or corporate decision makers in support of departmental and/or Company operations.
Gather, document, analyze, and draw conclusions on complex data and information after considering alternatives through independent research and analysis. Act as a key resource to department and division management.
Translate business process diagrams to system requirements in the development of automation solutions utilizing robotics. Work closely with business SME’s to develop logical diagrams to accurately depict business processes within robotics design suite.
Responsible for the development of data prep to be processed by robot. This would include writing queries against system tables utilizing tools to aggregate data and developing the most efficient process for robot to run data.
Develop robotic solutions through computer programming in SQL, Visual Basic, C++, C-Sharp & other object-oriented languages. Conduct user acceptance tests and implement solutions.
Partner closely with IT and robotics vendor to trouble-shoot, problem-solve and develop solutions to meet business needs.
Maintain current robots to ensure jobs continue to run and plans and build for potential robots. Provide on-call support.
Develop capacity plan to determine server needs and schedule volumes of jobs that can be run within a 24hr period. Manage scheduling of the team of robots to ensure optimal use of robotics team.
Five or more years of systems development (E.g. Visual basic scripts, MS Access), support, maintenance and or technical operations support experience.
Programming and software development experience in one of more of the listed languages/Tools: Microsoft Access, SAS, C++, Visual Basic, C Sharp, or other Object-oriented computing languages.
Experience in developing automations using automation tools (E.g. UiPath, Pega etc.).
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering).
Experience in developing automations using UiPath automation tool.
Experience in system and process implementations across multiple organizations- desired.
Knowledge of project management.
Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated experience identifying business problems and supporting the creation of business and system requirements to develop and propose technical solutions.
Understands the software development life-cycle, including but not limited to practical work experience in developing and translating logical and physical system diagrams, development of business requirements and system requirements, executing user-acceptance testing.
Strong understanding and proficiency in systems design: experience in Visio, or other types of systems diagram tools.
