Position Overview:
To provide direct oversight to a quality and cost effective procurement program in accordance with company policy
Essential Functions:
The Procurement Coordinator will have the responsibility of assisting with the development and routine review of the company purchasing policy, oversight of the procurement process, material inventory management, vendor selection and negotiations, and subcontractor agreements.
Identify, research and evaluate prospective suppliers
Work with multiple departments to qualify prospective suppliers
Generate and analyze forecasting schedule/documents
Prepare and place purchase orders
On average 25+ per day
Category Management experience
Maintain updated and accurate records, and reports
Track products and shipments
Create and maintain MS Excel spreadsheets
Maintain purchase order log
Implementation and management of electronic purchase order system
Qualifications:
Exhibit willingness to learn new assignments and be open to cross training
Strong analytical skills, project management, process and conceptual skills
Excellent time management skills
Ability to mitigate short-term issues through prioritization and anticipation in a long-term planning environment
Ability to discover, resolve, and present business status updates up the organization and internally across the organization
Understanding of inventory management best practices
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization
High degree of credibility and integrity
Self-starting, results-oriented individual who can be part of a team as well as stand up for tough decisions when required
Education
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience
Required: High school diploma or equivalent, 3-5 year experience in procurement
Preferred: Understanding of utility construction production and supply chain flow; Microsoft Dynamics ERP knowledge strongly preferred; Receiving experience
Special
Knowledge/
Skills
Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is a must. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to strong computer skills.
