Department Overview

The Aviation Services department resides within the Shared Services organization. Aviation Services provides a full range of services; fixed wing, helicopter and UAS, needed for PG&E organizations to safely and efficiently meet Company objectives.

Position Summary

Aviation Services is looking for talented summer intern to help support multiple on-going efforts within the department. Aviation Services is committed to safe, compliant, and efficient operations. The successful intern candidate would be working with department personnel and leadership on initiatives including but not limited to:

  • Performing an assessment of Federal Aviation Regulations and their applicability to PG&E Aviation Operations

  • Performing a review/analysis of our current flight scheduling system to identify gaps in efficiency and functionality

  • Performing direct observations of aviation operations and providing feedback to leadership on efficiency and efficacy of those operations

  • Participate in Aviation Services Safety Observation program providing feedback to the Safety Program Manager on the program’s efficacy and submitting recommendations for improvement

  • Work with the aviation maintenance team learning the maintenance and operations interactions in support of the aviation function

The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced aviation experts. Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the larger Aviation Services organization through the work they will be performing.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earning a Bachelor’s in an aviation related field (Safety, Engineering, Operations, etc) (students MUST be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship)

  • Must have a valid driver’s license or obtain one at least 30 days prior to start date.


  • Aviation majors sought: Human Factors, Aviation Maintenance, Avionics, Aviation Safety, UAS/UAV, Aviation Business Operations, Professional Flight/Aeronautical Science

  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA

  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction

PG&E typically is unable to provide VISA sponsorship to students on an F-1, J-1 or other visa for this position.
