Position Title: Digital Content Specialist

Reports To: Manager of Public Relations & Digital Media

Basic Functions: Responsible for development and production of AMP’s digital media footprint.

Essential Functions:

  1. Plans, creates, writes, and produces digital content including web pages, social media, static images, audio, and video that advances the AMP brand and reputation, and promotes the value of public power.

  2. Responsible for creating graphics, informational/promotional videos, interviews, online surveys, online tests and all other forms of interactive design for AMP’s digital channels and websites.

  3. Initiates and maintains organizational structure of AMP’s internal and external facing websites.

  4. Ensures that website quality standards are met, that AMP websites are appropriately tagged for search (SEO), and provide value to site visitors and AMP membership.

  5. Assists with digital analytics analysis and reporting of digital media efforts, including AMP websites, social channels and outreach. Develops improvement recommendations as appropriate.

  6. Studies and stays up to date on trends, applications, technology, media and best practices in digital media creation and management.

  7. Assists in debugging issues that arise with digital media supporting and in collaboration with departments and/or relevant vendors.

  8. Updates AMP websites and digital media content through cross-departmental outreach and collaboration.

  9. Responsible for AMP lobby video presentation materials.

  10. Assists with producing and editing PowerPoint presentations, templates and slides, and other electronic materials for speeches and presentations, trade shows, annual meetings, virtual meetings, etc.

  11. Acts as in-house photographer and videographer, as needed.

  12. Assists as necessary with copy editing, proofreading, design, layout and production of communications and promotional materials.

  13. Cultivates and maintains good relationships with officials from member communities.

  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

  1. Four-year degree in public relations, graphic design, visual communications or related field is highly preferred.

  2. Experience with visual communication principles, online video and interactive multimedia.

  3. Experience with layout and design, with proficiency in Adobe programs including Premiere Pro and Spark, Canva, Animaker and like applications.

  4. Proven experience with successfully engaging social media (including tools to support social media, such as Canva, Animaker, Hootsuite and/or like applications).

  5. Experience with WordPress or other Content Management Systems is preferred.

  6. Experience with managing the technical aspect of virtual meetings and interviews via Teams or Zoom.

  7. Excellent analytical and project management skills.

  8. Ability to gather, collate and classify information about data, people and/or things in a structured and organized intuitive manner.

  9. Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize multiple projects and perform under tight deadlines.

  10. Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven customer service ability.

  11. Must possess excellent organizational, communication, time management and writing skills.

  12. Electric industry, municipal or trade association background or experience preferred.
