Position Summary

The Associate IT Systems Analyst – ADMS SCADA supports the reliability and accuracy of IT solution operations for the ADMS SCADA application. They provide tactical design solutions and process automation, as well as escalated support to help restore services on the ADMS SCADA application. They are involved in QA activities, and ensure changes are deployed with sound documentation. They ensure processes within their assigned solutions are compliant and have proper controls. They will monitor or analyze output from monitors to assess and address system risks. They support development of new technical solutions and/or integration points as needed. They will provide rotating, periodic on-call support for the ADMS SCADA solution.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Analysis: Assist with the analysis, solution design and prioritization of business technical needs including participation on technical projects or efforts. Analyze system data to ensure functionality is sound. Perform or assist with QA activities.

  • Participate in aspects of solution design and support defect management through application of problem solving skills and design proposals. Create technical requirements if/as needed.

  • Operations: Execute regular defined operational processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of data, system processing and reports. Document and support system performance deficiencies and risks. Propose technical system changes to improve operational performance.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Achieve and maintain a high level of expertise in ADMS and Distribution SCADA.

  • Relationship Management: Work with IT teams and customers during testing activities, and through change deployment. Perform or assist with user acceptance testing for releases of software enhancements. Develop substantial relationships with key end users in each Distribution Control Center.

Minimum Requirements (Associate IT Systems Analyst)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering.

• Two years of related functional experience in one of the following: IT/OT Experience within T&D Organizations: EMS, ADMS, GIS, OMS, NERC CIP, SCADA.

  • Direct prior experience with ADMS software implementations, support from major ADMS vendors, distribution automation devices or distribution power system modelling can be credited for up to 1 year of experience.

• Strong communication skills, effective with varying organizational levels and skill sets.

• Strong Relationship Management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results.

• Strong business process design and operation skills.

• Demonstrated strong technical acumen.

• Demonstrated ability to translate technical points to non-technical.

• Proven ability to creatively problem solve issues.

• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply knowledge of new tools and system.

• Experience and understanding of core IT Service Management functions, such as Change Management and Incident Management.

Minimum Requirements (IT Systems Analyst)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.

• Minimum 5 years of related functional experience in one of the following: IT/OT Experience within T&D Organizations: EMS, ADMS, GIS, OMS, NERC CIP, SCADA

o Direct prior experience with ADMS software implementations, support from major ADMS vendors, distribution automation devices or distribution power system modelling can be credited for up to 3 years of experience.

• Strong communication skills, effective with varying organizational levels and skill set, and able to translate between technical and non-technical concepts.

  • Strong Relationship Management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results.

• Demonstrated strong business and technical acumen.

• Experience managing the lifecycle of technical solutions

• In depth knowledge of developmental technology as well as industry software and trends.

• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and measure the resulting value.

• Strong facilitation and problem solving skills.

• Demonstrated ability to build subject matter and tools expertise, and drive consistency in processes.

• Experience and understanding of core IT Service Management functions, such as Change Management and Incident Management.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $58,000 to $82,666 per year
