Information Technology Application Administration Specialist

Colorado Springs Utilities is looking for two Information Technology Application Administration Specialists to join our team. In this job,you will support our solutions through integration, implementation, maintenance and complex troubleshooting of both in-house developed and purchased systems deployed on site and in public and private clouds. Key enterprise application systems include Supply Chain, and Meter Data Management, SharePoint, and Lawson, with a primary focus on Customer Care and Billing and Work and Asset Management. Key enterprise shared technology systems include Identity Governance Suite, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Service Oriented Architecture Suite, Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle WebCenter Suite.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Automate System Administration functions, such as environment refreshes and password changes

  • Provide Application Administration support including system monitoring

  • Troubleshoot and resolve application/system issues

  • Work with support analysts and technical staff to identify and resolve system issues such as outages

  • Support application integrations and job scheduling systems

  • Plan, create, improve and maintain procedures and documentation related to administration of software applications, system and architecture design and maintenance, system and database backup policies, user management, and system release management

  • Configure and refine system monitoring and alerts

  • Evaluate system and database performance, perform system health checks and implement tuning improvements on Enterprise Level Applications

  • Identify, evaluate, coordinate, schedule and install application related patches and upgrades

  • Coordinate and schedule operating system, database and client tools patching and maintenance, and support migration of changes

  • Configure systems/applicationsfrom a technical perspective

  • Interface with software vendors for bug resolution and application maintenance issues

  • Interface with the applications’ users and business units when necessary

  • Install new system software releases and perform version upgrades as needed

  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing, including assisting with fault tolerance and producing/maintaining disaster recovery plans

  • Implement and support middleware technologies including their business continuity capabilities

  • Develop, coordinate, schedule and test system restoration processes and failover processes

  • Support of mission-criticalapplications 7x24

What will it take to be successful? Highly qualified candidates will bring a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field, as well as demonstrated technical skills and knowledge in the following:

  • Work / Asset Management Systems and Supply Chain Systems specificallyIBM Maximo v7 and Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management (WAM) ,Maximo Inventory and Auto-Reorder Modules, Maximo Business Objects (MBO), Maximo Interface (MIF), DataSplice

  • Customer Information Systems, Meter Data Management Systems, Mobile Workforce Management Systems such as Clevest MWM, call center software such as Interactive Intelligence, payment and bill print services, Outage Management Systems

  • Experience with the Oracle Utilities Suite products would beneficial specifically: Oracle Customer Care and Billing, Oracle Utilities Customer Self Service, Oracle Utilities Service Order Management, Oracle Utilities Operational Device Management, Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management, Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management, preferably MDM 2.x, Oracle Smart Grid Gateway, preferably SGG 2.x, Oracle User Productivity Kit for Utilities, Oracle Utility Testing Suite, Oracle Utility Analytics, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Identity Governance Suite, Oracle Service Oriented Architecture Suite, Oracle WebCenter Suite

  • WebLogic, WebSphere, IIS,IBM HTTP Server (IHS)

  • Oracle SQLServer database, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

  • Java, Web Services, XML, PowerShell

  • Windows and Unix/Linux Application Administration

  • SharePoint Application Administration

  • F5 Administration

  • Middleware technologies

  • Security Certificate implementation and administration
