Senior Training Specialist

In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with various organizational stakeholders (Learning Partners, Human Resources Business Partners, subject matter experts, and leadership) to assess compliance training needs and develop rich, engaging, results-oriented training solutions.

You will create an innovative, creative compliance program approach that leverages best practices and adult learning theory, and the project plan to build it. You’ll be a learning expert that guides clients to the right solutions, combining compliance needs with meaningful learner behavior change.

Instructional Designer Extraordinaire

  • Build innovative, engaging learning that measurably changes employee behavior.

  • Design and measure behavior-based outcomes effectively.

  • Use development tools (Captivate or Articulate, video and audio) to build learning solutions.

  • Design regulatory compliance solutions that balance regulatory requirements with learner best practices.

  • Design complete learning journeys that extend beyond a single learning event to support culture change and drive long-lasting results.

  • Identify the right learning solution, which may involve curation and/or vendors partnerships in the design and delivery of learning.

  • Provide technical training support, instructional design expertise, and content delivery to clients.

Program Management

  • Combine stakeholder input, organizational objectives and best learning practices to create a holistic learning program that extends beyond traditional once-and-done learning experiences.

  • Own PGE’s compliance program; define processes/roles/responsibilities, establish client partnerships, manage program deliverables.

  • Manage compliance projects. Create training plans, identify resources, design and execute on timelines, milestones and deliverables.

  • Create and report out on learning measurement and ROI.

  • Build and execute a program continuous improvement plan.


  • Serve Partners (management, program sponsors and individual contributors) through providing consultant services though needs assessment, development and implementation of solutions to meet business needs.

  • Work with external consultants and trainers to ensure PGE needs are met with the most cost-effective solutions.

  • Anticipate learning needs of our partners and lead with impactful solutions.

  • Create partnerships with a diverse set of stakeholders.

You will bring the following skills to our team:

  • Strategic, innovative, analytical mindset

  • Working knowledge of training program design and management; compliance program experience desired

  • Expert instructional design experience; building measurable, engaging, behavior-based learning that incorporates adult learning theory and industry best practices

  • Excellent self-management skills; able to work well collaboratively or independently depending on the need.

  • Customer experience focus that includes skills in design thinking, client management and expert consulting skills

  • Intermediate skills in Captivate or Articulate, video and audio production

  • External learning solutions experience involving learning curation and vendor management

  • Intermediate project management, communications and change skills

  • Diversity, equity and inclusion experience, knowledge of ADA compliance requirements

  • Measurement/analytics experience, including demonstrating return on investment

  • Mobile learning and Workday LMS experience a plus.

The successful candidate will typically have a Bachelor’s in Education, Instructional Design, Communications or Multimedia and five years in a training position, or equivalent education or experience.
