This position is in the 1DF Midwest Power Quality, Reliability and Integrity (PQR&I) group. The main responsibilities include analysis of outage data to improve the distribution system reliability, as well as state commission reporting.
Analyze large volume of outage data to determine actionable opportunities to improve distribution system reliability.
Extensive use of Excel (including pivot tables), Distribution Outage Management System (DOMS), and work management system (Maximo) to evaluate opportunities for distribution system reliability improvement.
Timely and accurate completion of state commission regulatory reporting for Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Support state commission inquires related to reliability.
Work closely with PQR&I Planning Governance, Integrity Engineers, and Project Management on reliability benefits associated with R&I programs and projects.
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
Solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision.
Apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET. A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree.
Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience. Experience must have been attained at a "Fully Meets" performance level.
Experience using advanced application of engineering theories and principles.
Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering design and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations.
Received a passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam.
Registered Professional Engineer
Experience in the utility industry.
Understanding of basic principles of Distribution Engineering and Distribution Operations.
Experience in evaluation of reliability improvement of distribution systems.
Significant experience and skills with Excel pivot tables to manipulate and analyze data.
Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in principles of project management.
About 10% local travel in OH/KY/IN service territory.
Some weekend and overtime work.
Occasional damage assessment support for storms
Flexible work hours based upon business needs (typical work hours 8am-5pm).
