SALARY RANGE: $80,500 - $111,880

Base salary is determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.

CLOSING DATE: This position will close on December 14, 2018.

LOCATION: Cheyenne, WY

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Coordinate, schedule, and lead employee and contractor work teams in the construction, maintenance, and operation of the natural gas system in the SE WY Gas Operations area (Cheyenne, I-80, and I-25 Corridors). Maintain a positive presence in the communities served. Ensure that safety is a priority in all work practices.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director of Operations

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Proactively promotes and leads safety initiatives in all phases of operations and in compliance with DOT, State, and Company standards.

  • Implements annual gas operating plans at a competitive cost, on time, and at agreed-to levels of quality.

  • Engages employees in all company programs (safety, CAPP, community involvement/participation).

  • Develops and manages capital and O&M budgets.

  • Oversees the day-to-day management of maintenance programs and budgets.

  • Partners with the management team, employees, and departments to meet business goals and customer service standards and expectations.

  • Manages employee & labor relations issues at the operational level, with assistance from Human Resources.

  • Understands and complies with DOT and Wyoming Public Service Commission (WYPSC) rules and regulations.

  • Interacts with customers, WYPSC officials, and community leaders to foster and maintain positive working relationships and favorable company image.

  • Oversees non-regulated activities and manages cost of service.

  • Implements non-regulated sales campaigns and motivates employees to achieve sales targets.

  • Actively sponsors and leads continuous improvement efforts.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides On-Call support for employee and emergency issues.

  • Actively engaged in civic and/or community organizations.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • City leaders in all communities served by BHE in SE WY

  • Representatives of local, state, and federal government offices

  • Large & small volume customers

  • CAPP customers

  • Regulated and non-regulated third party contractors

  • All BHE/BHC departments

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience.

  • Five years of utility industry experience and knowledge of gas operations preferred.

  • Experience with employee and labor relations issues.

  • Prior supervisory experience and proven ability to lead employees.

  • Proven leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, and engaging.

  • Ability to manage large geographic area and multiple locations across SE WY.

  • Experience with providing customer & emergency service on a 24-7 basis.

  • Experience in leading and managing both union and non-union employees in the construction, maintenance and operations of the gas system across a multi-site region.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of the natural gas system and its operations.

  • Knowledge of non-regulated products and services.

  • Working knowledge of personal computers & Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of emergency procedures including media relations.
