Alliant Energy Learning & Development Manager in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

4944BRJob Responsibilities:

  • You will design, customize, and implement learning solutions to address business development and capability needs, including programs related to leadership (leading self, leading others, and leading the business), diversity equity and inclusion, team development, change management, and other identified needs of the business.

  • You will continually seek and support new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of training. Select and manage resources, including working with both internal SMEs and training vendors, as needed, to develop and deliver training.

  • You will maintain strong presence including ability to influence and partner effectively at all levels within an organization with a strong consulting mindset (root cause analysis, problem-solving, stakeholder management etc.).

  • You will create course content using a variety of learning modalities for (classroom, online/virtual, online/self-directed, on-the-job).

  • You will report on training activities and analyze data to drive results and learning effectiveness.

  • You will create and manage the communication strategy for promoting and highlighting key training processes and activities across the network.

  • You will build relationships with key stakeholders to include Executives, HR and ad-hoc groups (ERGS, Inclusion Points) and execute key initiatives that support D&E/I and Culture.

Alliant Energy is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual with a passion for delivering an outstanding learner experience to join our team! In this exciting and newly created role as a Learning & Development Manager you will begin working on a remote basis and will be based out of either our Madison, WI or Cedar Rapids, IA office. You will design and implement learning solutions for our key focus areas and manage the learning and development portfolio of programs. As a key member of the Talent Development team, you will use your in-depth learning and development experience and knowledge of industry trends to shape the future of our learning experience.

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in adult learning, instructional design, education, behavioral sciences, organizational development, business or a related area

  • Masters degree preferred

Preferred Experience

  • 8 years of experience in training, employee development, instructional design, organization design and/or performance improvement consulting.

  • Proven expertise in deriving skillset from the use of processes and frameworks such as organization capability design, change, competency modeling, and leadership frameworks.

  • Additional training and/or certifications in instructional design, employee development, organization development/design, human services and/or other related instructional/training areas from an accredited institution or company.

  • Experience working with data and utilizing analytical insights to inform strategic learning recommendations.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Learning Design with experience leveraging multiple delivery channels (classroom, online/virtual, online/self-directed, on-the-job).

  • Solid background in Talent Management and/or Learning & Development.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • A passion for people development, with the reliance to drive change for impact.

  • Demonstrated ability to consult effectively with managers and employees at various levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

  • Demonstrated competency in needs assessment, instructional design, training and development implementation, team development skills, performance measurement and evaluation and the use of adult learning principles.

  • Highly organized with exceptional project management and execution skills

  • Flexible, innovative in a productive, growth-oriented and time-critical environment

  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment and present to a diverse audience.
