Job Summary

The Business Systems Management organization provides support for the Customer Information System (CIS), Website, Mobile App, Field Technology, Field Mobility, Metering, Work and Asset Management System, and Outage Management System (OMS) user communities to maximize the business benefits of these systems and ensure correct integration of interfacing applications.

Duties Include:

  • Provide analytical problem solving, project management and quality assurance testing in support of system modifications and enhancements.

  • Achieve detailed knowledge of selected processes within the CIS and operational technology area(s) such as service orders, field technology, field mobility, metering, outage management system (OMS), work and asset management systems or other systems to enable successful project leadership and production support.

  • Define project requirements by studying business functions, document information for requirements for coding changes to systems, execute system test plans and document any coding or design defects.

  • Coordinate changes into production environments.

  • Progressively develop analytical proficiency regarding the functional and technical development of the application software solution.

  • Add value to projects via continued growth in subject matter expert knowledge of the assigned business process areas and their associated application systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Analytical ability to include organization and problem-solving techniques

  • Proficiency in presentation of information through written and verbal communications

  • Facilitation skills for gathering requirements and business process design related to system change requests

  • Ability to coordinate issue resolutions through direct interaction with clients and application developers

  • Ability to perform independently and within a team based environment

  • Project management skills for the development of project plans

  • Ability to multi task in order to support production issues, test production fixes, and fulfill legal and regulatory requirements

  • Must have good interpersonal and critical thinking skills with the ability to influence others

  • Highly organized, ability to work independently but willing to adjust direction when necessary

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills with the ability to influence others

  • A working knowledge of project methodology (Waterfall, Agile or equivalent) to gather business requirements and design system changes is preferred.

  • Utility Customer Information Systems, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Field Technology/Mobility systems, and Metering knowledge is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in information systems, business, computer science, or related field of study.

Level will be determined by experience:

Business Systems Analyst I: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems or a related degree from an accredited college or university preferred with 6 months to 1 or more years of experience.

Business Systems Analyst II: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems or a related degree from an accredited college or university preferred with 2 or more years of experience.
