MYR Group CX Test Technician (Solar) in Carlton, Georgia

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Commissioning Test Technician is primarily responsible for testing MYR solar facility DC electrical system cables and components to validate installation is in accordance with local, national codes and project contract specifications and standards prior to energization.

The Commissioning Test Technician is responsible for assisting OEM technical field advisors and 3rd party testing contractors with the performance of their commissioning duties. The Commissioning Test Technician shall report to the Field Commissioning Superintendent. This position requires frequent travel based upon MYRE project needs.

Essential Functions

  • Test solar facility DC electrical system cables and components.

  • Ensure successful tests results and performance of re-tests as required.

  • Conduct pre-commissioning walkdowns and inspections and punch list development.

  • Assist OEM technical field advisors and 3rd party testing contractors as required.

  • Coordinate with the field construction staff regarding concerns with construction handover and mechanical completion walkdowns.

  • Installation of Red Rope and other safety barricades.

  • Assist with the application and adherence to the following site specific safety procedures; LOTO, Red Rope, Permit to Work and others as required

  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years as an apprentice or licensed journeyman electrician

  • Commissioning experience in all disciplines on utility scale solar sites

  • Training certifications that can be accomplished within 90 days of employment:

  • OSHA 30

  • CPR/BLS/First Aid

  • NFPA 70E

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Apprentice or journeyman electrician (Journeyman's license preferred)

  • Understanding of AC & DC circuitry

  • Ability to read and understand electrical one-line schematics

  • 1st Aid / CPR

  • OSHA30

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Routinely perform work outdoors in sometimes inclement weather with moderate to high noise level. Worker may be subject to hazards including variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current.

  • Heavy work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Salary commensurate with experience with weekly pay. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
