PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE LEADER (18-022)

POSITION SUMMARYPerformance Excellence Leader facilitates station leadership's implementation of Lean concepts and skills in order to help Wolf Creek transform its business and deliver organizational efficiency. Performance Excellence Leader will have executive and director level exposure as they work within and across divisions to streamline the processes and manage change within Wolf Creek's organization. In addition to process improvement opportunities, Performance Excellence Leader will be required to train Wolf Creek employees in the Lean concepts. They will work with station leadership in the development and execution of continuous improvement projects and development of sustainable business strategies that align to Wolf Creek's mission, competencies and principles.

RESPONSIBILITIESThis position will report to the Communications Manager. The scope of the work will include working with cross-functional teams and station leadership to develop, execute, and complete selected improvement projects. The Performance Excellence Leader will work with people at all levels in the organization from senior business leaders and corporate management through line level employees. Expectations include a hands-on, teamwork approach to problem solving, planning, and people associated with all aspects of the continuous improvement initiative. The successful candidate will challenge the status quo by demonstrating successful application of new methodologies to improve process quality and cost.

Principal responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Serving as the organization's primary resource for expertise in continuous improvement techniques, including Lean

Supporting Wolf Creek's strategic goals through the implementation of continuous improvement projects

Working with Financial Services and other members of the organization in assessing, tracking, and reporting the financial benefit of the projects

Collaborating and coaching with other Plant Performance team members through the successful implementation of process changes and improvements

Defining, developing, and changing processes and procedures.

Leading teams through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) and Kaizen Methodologies including documentation of team activities, action items, communication of results to management, and team champions

Documenting all aspects of projects through completion

Providing assistance to divisions and cross-functional teams in identifying, planning, and implementing continuous improvement projects

Performing stakeholder analysis to identify and remove barriers that slow or prevent the completion and implementation of the continuous improvement project

Achieving the required certifications through project execution (i.e. SCORE events, Green Belt projects, or a Rapid Innovation Cycle) and examinations

Analyzing complex data sets to determine root cause

Performing other duties as assigned by leadership

REQUIREMENTSA Bachelor’s Degree in business or a technical discipline (Master’s Degree is beneficial) and five or more years of experience in a discipline that demonstrates analytical skills, process improvement capability, and demonstrated experience as a team leader with proven problem solving skills is required. A solid understanding of statistics and strong math skills is required. Strong written and oral communication skills are required, and project management expertise is preferred.

Lean certification preferred.

NOTE: The salary range for this position is $82,880 to $124,320 annually.

The salary will be commensurate with the selected candidates education, experience and readiness.
