MRO Specialist

Job Description:

Under general supervision install, remove, change, disconnect, and reconnect the Company's singlephase, network, and polyphase self-contained electric meters energized up to 260 volts.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Read meters as required for field orders and on schedule for cycle billing.

  • Install, program, remove, change, disconnect, and reconnect meters.

  • Test singlephase and network meters for proper operation and accuracy.

  • Perform Credit and Collections related orders including disconnect and reconnect for non-payment.

  • Investigate irregular usage and energy diversion.

  • Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures.

  • Order, receive, ship, and store meters and associated equipment.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles and work area in a clean and orderly fashion.

  • Operate automotive equipment and its associated equipment, including radios.

  • Maintain records and submit reports as required.

  • Assist employees of equal or higher classification.

  • Perform similar or less skilled work.

**This position will be a floating position to include Benton Harbor and South Bend.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or GED.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid State Driver's License

Additional Information:

  1. Prior to employment, successfully complete the Construction and Skilled Trades Test.

  2. Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company's training and qualification program for this classification including: classroom instruction; written testing; 560 hours of on the job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations.

  3. Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends.

  4. Work late shifts as needed.

  5. Work in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.

  6. Proficiently use computers and applications related to this classification.

  7. Effectively communicate with other employees, customers, and the general public in a courteous and appropriate manner.

  8. Promote a positive image of the Company to customers and the general public.
