National Grid Program Manager, Commercial & Industrial in Brooklyn, New York

_About the Position_:

This role is part of the New York Customer Solutions Team focused on Energy Efficiency products and services in our New York City and Long Island natural gas service territories. The customer segment focuses on Large Commercial & Industrial (LCI) and Large Multi-family customers with a focus on increasing customer adoption and awareness of Gas Energy Efficiency products and services as well as delivering improved customer satisfaction through our Energy Efficiency programs. This role is responsible for managing the overall performance of a specific Commercial & Industrial, Multi-family, and/or Residential programs in New York. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer satisfaction, increase productivity, and enhance process efficiency through the use of best practices and market-driven strategies. The successful candidate should demonstrate a proven track record of analyzing, managing and delivering on program based targets and budgets. Candidate should also have demonstrated success in communication and collaboration strategies.

_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):_

  • Deliver high quality work with adherence to internal and external deadlines.

  • Responsible for program budgets, support the development of portfolio budgets, support sales targets, develop and report on forecasts and collaborate with internal partners to develop robust strategies that offer best-in-class approaches to energy efficiency for the participating market.

  • Monthly/Biweekly analysis and monitoring of progress toward sales and regulatory energy savings goals as well as quarterly and annual forecasts.

  • Monthly/Biweekly analysis and monitoring of progress of budgets, spending categories as well as quarterly and annual forecasts. Including timely review and approval of invoices and financial accrual data. Ad hoc reporting as requested.

  • Coordinate and manage collaboration of annual and market specific communication materials for internal and external stakeholders to drive action or convey important information about the programs offerings, goals or targets.

  • Coordinate, manage and execute sales, marketing and/or gap closure tactics to boost program performance to goals.

  • Develop and present guidance to internal sales teams and external vendors participating in the programs including regular information on energy efficiency offerings and customer eligibility, education on required procedures; proactively work with implementation vendors enable and grow participation.

  • Collaborate and support the enhancement, new development and reporting requirements of the department including Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as part of Process Improvement (PEX) including but not limited to program results, measure penetration, earning adjustments, manageable cost to serve measures, and enhanced cycle time for new measure development for program segments.

  • Support, review and provide feedback on primary data and secondary research that analyzes energy efficiency trends, new measures development and/or new approaches and performance targets for the market or rate cases.

  • Contribute to the research and implementation of best practices, exploring ways to streamline processes and reporting and collaboration with internal departments and external agencies to drive program success.

  • Proactively seek ways to improve the program’s services for our customers by soliciting customer and stakeholder feedback. This includes but is not limited to supporting a variety of internal stakeholders, such as regulatory, strategy, and program evaluation, sales, procurement, legal, corporate communications as requested.

  • Represent National Grid values when communicating with key internal and external stakeholders such as business, municipal, or regulatory agencies.

  • Develop and maintain a technical understanding of energy efficiency services and measures that apply to programs, technologies and properties.

  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the business by staying abreast of business trends, and learning and sharing best practices.

_Knowledge & Experience Required:_

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Advanced degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated skills in the use of and reporting in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) along with the ability to learn other programs and applications such as Salesforce and SAP.

  • 3 years’ successful experience implementation of consumer programs in multiple markets such as managing utility programs in a related field desired.

  • Experience in energy efficiency program management, an understanding of industrial, commercial and/or residential building energy structures including how energy is used within those structures, understanding of the New York regulatory and environmental policy helpful but not required.

  • Ability to gain knowledge of relevant industry practices, trends, and legislation on an ongoing basis. CEM certification desired.
