National Grid Director, Controls and Compliance in Brooklyn, New York
National Grid is hiring a Director, Compliance and Controls for our Customer organization. Thie preferred location for this role is Brooklyn, New York, but can be based in Waltham, MA.

Provides direction and oversight for the end to end testing and controls for Customer Back-Office, ensures completion of 2nd line testing, inclusive of SOX controls, operating and regulatory controls, and works with the leadership team to ensure remediation plans are executed according to due dates.
Provide direction, oversight and leadership to a team of controls analysts
Design controls and 2nd level testing for back-office operations SOX (50), Operating Business Controls (52), and Regulatory
Ensure controls and testing are completed on schedule and by the due date compliance with the 1,754 regulatory obligations in the Billing, Collections and AMO Departments in NY (1,598) and NE (156)
Provide reporting and updates to executive leadership team on controls and testing results
Work closely with US Business Services Record to Report transaction processing team to ensure financial reporting accuracy within the revenue cycle
Consult with leaders on process improvements and may lead initiatives/projects
Work closely and collaborates with peers and the extended leadership team to resolve process and controls issues as they arise
Coordinate the “drumbeat” of all Assurance and Compliance activities across the Customer Organization
Undergraduate degree required; Accounting or Finance degree preferred
Experience starting up a Quality or Process Controls/Audit/Finance Organization is strongly preferred
7-10+ years of audit or quality process experience
Deep understanding of controls methodology
Experience leading teams
Ability to collaborate and build strategic relationships to solve problems
Must be able to travel for extended periods of time
