Job Summary

Dominion is currently recruiting for 2019 summer interns. The Controls Intern will work with engineers in the Automation and Controls department to assist them in the design, development, and installation of control systems. The intern will perform analysis, calculations, write reports and conduct research. This positions primary focus will be in the development and commissioning of Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems used by station personnel to operate compressor stations.

Individuals must have a desire to learn and produce as a part of a safety-conscious workplace.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Qualified candidates will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Products), knowledge of Windows 7 operating system and the ability to learn complex software systems are a must for this position.

  • Must have good communications and problem solving skills.

  • Must be self motivated and have a strong work ethic.

  • Currently enrolled in a 4 year ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree Engineering program. Candidates currently pursuing an Electrical or Computer Engineering degree are preferred.

  • Prefer students with active participation in a university engineering organization, especially in a leadership role.

  • Prefer students with an anticipated graduation date between December 2021 and May 2022.

  • Candidates must currently hold a valid driver’s license.

Education Requirements

  • Must currently be enrolled in a 4 year ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree Engineering program. Candidates currently pursuing an Electrical or Computer Engineering degree are preferred.

  • Engineering Technology degree programs are not acceptable for Engineering internships at Dominion.

  • Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA

  • Must have a grad date of December 2019 or later. Prefer students with an anticipated graduation date between December 2021 and May 2022.
