Job Summary

As a member of the Corporate Security Team, the Manager of Cybersecurity will be responsible for:

  • Managing and leading cybersecurity, physical security and information security training and awareness activities to ensure that Avangrid workers understand, acknowledge and ultimately fulfill their obligations to protect Avangrid assets. The overall goal of the security awareness program is to reduce risk by ensuring that all users understand security policies and practice good cyber hygiene. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Work with Corporate Security Teams, Business Security Liaisons (BSLs) and Business Area Leaders (BALs) to determine Corporate Security (i.e. physical, cyber, etc.) training and awareness needs.

  • Design, develop and deliver training and awareness programs based on industry subject matter expertise, regulatory requirements and best practice and be able to respond to questions.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing training, education, and awareness program/activities including phishing campaign.

  • Assist with creation of reports, dashboards, and metrics that can effectively measure engagement, behaviors and impact. Adjust training program accordingly.

  • Develop security communications within AVANGRID, including regular newsletters, awareness articles, CSO messages, etc.

  • Manage the companies Phishing Program, including metrics and reporting.

  • Monitoring cybersecurity policy, including but not limited to:

  • Track cyber policy at the state, federal and international levels.

  • Analyze proposed policies pertaining to cybersecurity and evaluate potential impacts to the company.

  • Develop and distribute written communications and presentations on cyber policy analysis.

  • Serve as a liaison with AVANGRID government affairs as well as outside agencies.

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic cybersecurity initiatives, based on industry standards of best practice, (e.g. NIST), legislative and regulatory requirements and risk mitigation

  • Process improve and manage the Corporate Security Risk Exception process.

  • Manage and maintain content on the Corporate Security SharePoint page.

  • Participate in external industry organization forums, meetings, training sessions

  • Participate in global working groups, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education & Experience Required:

  • Master’s degree with 4+ years’ relevant experience or;

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years relevant experience or;

  • High school diploma/GED with 10+ years relevant experience.

Preferences:

  • Demonstrated work experience in a complex global environment, preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, preferred.

  • Energy/utility Industry experience (preferred).

  • Technical knowledge in cybersecurity, either in the IT field (information and communications systems) and/or in the OT field (networks and industrial control systems) preferred.

  • Marketing background is a plus

  • Experience working with and analyzing cybersecurity policy (preferred).
