Eversource Energy Accountant in Berlin, Connecticut

Performs a variety of administrative assignments associated with various accounting-related activities for the Eversource System.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes accounting data
  • Prepares, reviews and processes billings, invoices, payments and refunds
  • Works closely with a wide-variety of internal and external customers including vendors
  • Initiates purchase order revisions as necessary
  • Maintains accounting records
  • Researches accounting information
  • Participates in preparation of materials for various System-wide reporting requirements

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Knowledge:

  • Functional accounting, purchasing and/or payroll practices and procedures
  • Computerized accounting, purchasing and/or payroll systems

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Cost accounting (in some Application areas)
  • Accounting for fixed assets (in some Application areas)

Skills:

  • MS Office applications (specifically Word and Excel)
  • Solid interpersonal skills including a professional demeanor
  • Spoken and written communications
  • Demonstrates initiative and personal ownership
  • Emerging ability to recognize problems and discrepancies in area-specific accounting information

Education:

  • Associate degree in Accounting or a closely-related business discipline or the equivalent education/experience required.

Experience :

  • Four plus years of experience required

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
