About Transmission andDistribution

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.

Position overview

This position will be in the Barstow Service Center within the Northeast Division in Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Transmission and Distribution Organization Unit (TDOU). The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the District Manager and Service Center while interacting daily with management, staff, and external contacts.

TypicalResponsibilities:

  • Calendaring appointments, including scheduling and coordinatingmeetings, conference calls and appointments, as well as preparing agendas anddiscussion materials for such meetings.

  • Filing electronic and paper documents, including processing supplyorders, purchase requests, permitting, expense reports and invoices as needed.

  • Handling confidential and sensitive telephone calls, files,documents, and reports.

  • Coordinating and finalizing routine assignments to ensure timelycompletion.

  • Utilizing on-line and standard computerized office support toolsand software to enter and retrieve data and update systems.

  • Processing payments and verifying contracts are complete for workorders.

  • Reviewing and routing incoming and outgoing correspondence,including following up where necessary.

  • Making travel arrangements.

  • Participating on the Administrative team and other special projectsas assigned to assist in delivering reports and managing information.

  • Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by followingEdison safety protocols and safe work practices.

  • Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experienceperforming advanced administrative, secretarial, and clerical functions.

  • Experience utilizing officeproductivity tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Experience filing, calendaring appointments, coordinating,scheduling, and planning meetings and conference calls.

Desired Qualifications

  • A combination of formal education, training, and experience togain knowledge, skills, and abilities generally equivalent to those possessedby a high school graduate.

  • Experience utilizing SAP to gather information.

  • Experience working within a large, fast paced work environment.

  • Experienceprocessing purchasing requests, contracts, and invoices.

  • Experienceresearching, coordinating, and compiling information for reporting.

  • Experience workingin a multi-task environment, taking direction from multiple staff withminimal supervision.

  • Ability tomaintain confidentiality and make sound decisions on routine matters.

  • Knowledge of theCustomer Service System (CSS) and Design Manager (DM) software systems.

  • Strong oral andwritten communication skills, including editing for proper sentencestructure, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

  • Ability to followEdison safety protocols and safe work practices.

  • Ability tointegrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services toenhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risksappropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service tointernal and external customers.

  • Effective resourceand project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building,and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
