Exelon Sr Analyst IT - Customer Strategic Projects in BALTIMORE, Maryland

Job purpose:

This is an individual contributor position that works under general supervision and performs routine and non-routine work. This position is expected to work under the general supervision of the Third Party Advisor and System Integrator Consultant Teams by providing input in to the project plans, decisions, designs and challenges. On occasion, may mentor less experienced colleagues.

Position will be involved in activities of projects that impact customer technology platforms, such as CIMS, CC&B, and SAP, from project initiation through close-out. Work with IT Project Lead/PM/Third Party Advisor/System Integrator to deliver and implement the functionality requested in the project business case. Performs and/or manages activities relating to gathering common business requirements, designing, building, and maintaining high quality solutions, products and processes.

Position may require working extended hours and/or shift work to support the Customer Project delivery milestones.

Duties and responsibilities:

The following are standard duties and responsibilities for a Senior Analyst IT. However, the duties and responsibilities for this position will be more related to customer project management as described in the job purpose above.

  • Perform, document and assist in planning work activities relating to projects, sub-projects, or processes. For Projects: participate/document business requirements gathering, analyze requirements, design, build, and test IT software solutions in accordance with IT project management standards.

  • Maintain engagement with business and IT partners.

  • Assist less experienced personnel.

  • Proactively build business/IT knowledge to provide solutions.

  • Utilize best practices to improve products and services. Apply and verify compliance to standards as defined within the Management Model

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 3 to 5 years related experience in IT customer projects or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Knowledge of business practices and processes in Customer Information Systems

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience working on project teams in activities related to gathering business requirements, analyzing requirements, designing technical solution, testing, and change management. Familiar with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) project methodology guidance.
