Description

The Senior Digital Designer and Copywriter must be a multifaceted designer that is efficient in print, interactive and web, copy writing and proofreading (videography and photography a plus). A strong command of typography, color, composition, hierarchy, and how these elements work together for a strong design solution. He/she must have a stellar portfolio that displays their clean and modern aesthetics to complement/enhance our brand. (85% designer, 15% writer)

Creative Services falls under Corporate Communications, so having good verbal and written skills are required. On occasions, this position will be required to write and proof copy (AP style). He/she must work well in a fast pace and at times, high pressure environment. He/she must have a can-do attitude and works as equally well independently or with a team.

We are a PC based environment.

Functional Expertise:

  • Layout, design and prepare artwork for prepress

  • Responsible for the on-time and on-budget design of marketing materials to support business objectives, including print, online and traditional media

  • Experience designing strong direct marketing pieces; offline and online

  • Advanced knowledge of the field's concepts, best practices and procedures

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design assets across all channels of print and digital media

  • Monitors use of corporate and partnership brands and marks and enforces adherence to brand standards

Business Acumen:

  • Ability to translate a strategy into an effective creative solution

  • Optimize design processes and procedures to ensure efficient and productive work flow

  • Provides thought leadership and consultation in aligning creative deliverables with business goals

  • Collaborates with team members and other departments to interpret business needs into creative execution

Engagement:

  • Work closely with a variety of vendors and internal teams to ensure adherence to specification guidelines and tight deadlines

  • Ability to for enhance productivity of in-house designers, 3rd party design resources and agencies by effectively communicating and implementing design strategy

  • Ability to respond quickly to requests while maintaining high design standards

  • Participates in planning/strategy meetings

Driving Results:

  • Achieves metrics as defined using industry tools and tactics

  • Leads and participates with multiple cross-functional external and internal groups to develop compelling creative work that differentiates the brand and aids in driving key initiatives

  • Connects design strategy to top line growth and improving customer loyalty and engagement

  • Ensure materials are on budget, on time and produced correctly

  • Holds other internal and external design resources accountable for design work completed

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Required:

  • BA/BFA degree or related area

Related Work Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of graphic design experience on either the agency or corporate environment.

  • Experience with direct marketing design best practices including A/B testing, pre-press, and print and postal requirements. Experience with a variety of collateral design in print and digital.

Applicant may possess a combination of equivalent education and work experience.

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

Required:

  • A strong command of typography, color, composition, hierarchy and how these elements work together for a strong design solution

  • Advanced level skills utilizing Adobe Creative Suite

  • Solid understanding of the print production process

  • Copywriting and proof-reading skills

  • Strong attention to detail – ability to proofread own work to ensure quality control

  • Proven history of thoughtful and innovative design solutions using a variety of mediums and a wide range of concepts

  • Ability to design on a PC or Mac platform

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
