Primary role of a Damage Assessor Driver will be to serve as a driver for the Damage Assessor for utility providers. driver will operate the vehicle which allows for the assessor to inspect potential damage to utility infrastructure. In addition to driving, the driver will support the assessor with identifying damages, reporting damages, driving the vehicle up to 12 to 14 hours daily. driver should be comfortable operating motor vehicle in inclement weather.
Damage Assessor Driver will have the ability to learn how to identify primary and secondary electrical facilities. This will include primary and secondary conductors, broken poles, fuses, switches, reclosers, regulators, transformers, knowing the difference in telephone and cable TV wires, substation damage. Damage Assessor Driver will also identify if tree crews are needed and any hazardous or unsafe work conditions on site. This position is subject to work in inclement weather and long hourly shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Damage Assessor Driver must be capable of learning company’s technical restoration tools and using the tools during restoration. Driver must be able to use and operate GPS.
The position can be shared with utilities and perform other duties for the requesting utility. Qualifications:
Damage Assessor Driver will follow Volt Safety, Ethics and HR Guidelines within the team and will communicate any violations to assessor or team lead.
Education, Experience, and license :
High School Diploma/ College Degree- can be offset with Electrical Utility Experience
Valid and clean Driver’s license
