5023BRJob Responsibilities:In this role you will...

  • Be responsible for customer contact in areas of customer service, promoting current/new products and services available to customers

  • Have the power to resolve questions and problems that may include complex issues for resolution.

  • Deliver exceptional service (the type of service you like to receive!) to meet our customers' needs.

  • Be the first line of customer contact in areas of customer service, credit and collections, web support, and billing.

  • Be responsible for answering outage and emergency inquiries from customers to ensure accurate and timely response. Initiates work orders for meter readings, service requests, construction and customer program offerings.

  • Performs routine collection activities including payment agreements, educating on programs for assistance and processes for delinquent accounts.

  • Responds to customer inquiries, complaints and initiates action to resolve.

  • Responsible for general understanding of regulatory rules and regulations to ensure the customer is billed properly.

  • Mentors less-experienced employees as needed.

  • All other duties as assigned.

We are looking for Customer Support Associates to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference, impacting the customer experience. To be eligible for this position, your home office must be in Iowa and within the communities that we serve. We are currently hiring in Ames, Burlington, Centerville, Cedar Rapids and Marshalltown, IA.

This is a six-month seasonal position targeted to help meet our customers' needs during our busy season. (Interested in working with us fulltime? Keep reading to learn how!)

Working from Home:

  • This position will train and work from home! Our call center is now home-based, giving you the flexibility you need in your life.

  • There could be an instance where we need you to come to the office - for the position, you must be located in the communities that we serve and in a daily commutable distance of a main office.

  • For this work from home position, you will need to provide your own high speed internet with wired connections for workstation and phone with connections of: Download Speed =>10MBPS; Upload Speed => 3MBPS; Jitter <=15MS; Ping <=150MS

  • Computer and office supplies will be provided.

Seasonal Position - What does that entail?

  • Seasonal positions work between February and November with multiple start dates to fit your needs.

  • Flexible schedule Monday – Saturday with various starting times between 7 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

  • Seasonal positions never work on Sunday!

  • Education or equivalent to a high school diploma.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years technical and/or professional experience in related customer service skills.

  • Call Center experience preferred.

  • Education or equivalent experience to a two-year degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs and Windows-based customer information systems.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic math.

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment.

This position is covered by the Department of Transportation regulations on drug/alcohol testing (CFR 49, Parts 40 and 199), and is subject to drug/alcohol testing according to said regulations.
