Primary Responsibilities:

Staff Analyst:

  • Provide analytical support to PPL’s corporate financial functions including various scenario and sensitivity analysis.

  • Assist with compiling and analyzing financial information to meet management reporting requirements including reconciliations and variance explanations.

  • Learn Utilities International (UI) software (PPL’s budget and forecasting tools).

  • Participate in the development of presentations and other materials to key stakeholders including executive management, the Board of Directors, rating agencies, and investment community.

  • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc financial analysis at the request of various levels of management under general supervision.

  • Assist in developing, streamlining and maintaining flexible financial models

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with personnel from PPL’s business lines and other corporate support group functions.

Senior Analyst:

  • Prepare analysis and provide recommendations to PPL’s corporate financial functions including various scenario and sensitivity analysis.

  • Compile and analyze financial information to drive management reporting requirements including meaningful reconciliations and variance explanations.

  • Become proficient with Utilities International (UI) software (PPL’s budget and forecasting tools).

  • Lead the development of presentations and other materials to key stakeholders including executive management, the Board of Directors, rating agencies, and investment community.

  • Develop and streamline flexible financial models for ad hoc financial requests from various levels of management.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with personnel from PPL’s business lines and other corporate support group functions.

  • Provide functional advice or training to less-experienced positions

Position Summary:

Staff Analyst:

This position is part of a group of resources responsible for financial analysis duties supporting a range of financial functions within PPL including Financial Planning & Budgeting, Investor Relations, and Strategic Development. Under general supervision, responsibilities include both project-based and daily/monthly activities supporting these functions. Works with regular guidance in own area of knowledge.

Senior Analyst:

The ability to conceptualize, interpret and communicate financial analytics is crucial to this position. Responsibilities include both project-based and daily/monthly activities supporting these functions. This is a senior analyst level position normally without supervisory responsibility. However, may supervise and / or provide guidance and direction to other PPL employees in support of producing high quality, timely and cost-effective solutions. Works independently with minimal guidance.

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications:

Staff Analyst:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.

  2. 0 to 4 years financial experience, which could include co-op assignments.

  3. Requires knowledge and skills in own discipline; still acquiring higher level skills.

Senior Analyst:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.

  2. 5 to 7 years financial experience, which could include co-op assignments.

  3. Requires in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline.

  4. Familiarity with Utilities International (UI) software and / or utility industry experience

  5. Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  6. Capacity to perform detailed analysis while understanding big picture implications and willingness to solve problems independently

  7. Strong written and oral communication skills

  8. Self-starter with a natural sense of urgency, curiosity, and initiative

  9. Lead and manage projects and initiatives
