Internal Title:

Financial Analyst - PPL Renewables

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform project valuations on acquisition opportunities utilizing traditional economic criteria – unlevered and levered investment returns, corporate earnings per share, credit metrics, etc.

  • Collaborate with PPL’s corporate accounting and finance groups to compile and analyze financial information and effectively communicate results to senior management

  • Assist in preparing the PPL Renewables business plan by making thoughtful assumptions, considering information from various sources, and communicating the impact on corporate earnings and credit metrics

  • Prepare financial models for various debt financed and tax equity financed structures, such as sale lease back and partnership flips, while considering both tax and book accounting criteria

  • Create presentations and other materials for key stakeholders including executive management and outside financing parties

  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with various internal subject matter experts to manage all substantive issues around tax, accounting, financing, structuring, and legal aspects

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for a range of financial functions within the PPL Renewables group, including financial modeling for renewable energy transactions, corporate financial planning and reporting, and ad hoc data analysis. This is a hands-on position which will require a high attention to detail, rigorous financial modeling, and an advanced understanding of financial concepts. The Financial Analyst must possess a strong desire to support the growing finance and business development efforts for a rapidly growing company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field

  • Minimum 0-2 years’ experience in utility/renewables sectors or corporate development with strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize and articulate the output in a concise and easy to understand manner (Staff Analyst level is 2-4 years of experience. Title is determined by successful candidate's years of applicable exp.)

  • Advanced understanding of financial concepts and intermediate understanding of GAAP and tax accounting

  • Proficiency in MS Suite

  • Desire to be an active member in a high growth business platform

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, outstanding organizational and people skills, and attention to detail
