About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Solutions, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FES]

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant experience and ABA paralegal certification required

  • Knowledge & Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new technologies and systems as needed

  • Well organized and efficient; able to prioritize, multi-task and meet multiple deadlines promptly and under minimal supervision

  • Familiarity with the any of the following areas: contract law, regulatory compliance, licensing, corporate governance

  • Experience drafting, reviewing and evaluating contracts preferred, but not required

  • Experience in power generation or related field is preferred, but not required PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support General Counsel in Board Meetings, including organizing logistics, drafting meeting materials, preparing resolutions, organizing materials and agendas. Record and disseminate meeting minutes according to established procedures

  • Maintain and update Board member bios and contact information and other administrative information as required

  • Manage the onboarding of new Board members by advising on the role of the Board and informing on existing governance practices

  • Provide support to the attorneys and play a lead role in managing key processes and documents

  • Perform legal research on applicable laws, regulations, codes and publications as required

  • Assist with reviewing, drafting, revising, and editing contracts with internal staff and external third parties

  • Manage, create, update and distribute legal document templates

  • Support creation of internal playbooks, processes and checklists

  • Assist with corporate filings and legal document management

  • As needed, conduct meetings with stakeholders to communicate the progress of ongoing legal matters with all parties involved

  • Perform other job duties as assigned
