Summary

Spire is seeking a Manager, ITS Infrastructure Engineering to oversee and provide guidance to a technical pool of resources. This role will lead and develop a highly skilled, cross functional technical staff to implement solutions for critical customer facing applications and end-user groups, with a focus on continuous improvement, quality, and providing a high level of customer-centric service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Solid understanding of the role of virtualization technologies in the Data Center

• Provide leadership and oversight on all Infrastructure Engineering areas such as Server, Network, Security and Core Database functions

• Oversee diverse pool of technical resources to ensure continuous delivery of work as planned accordingly in the agile kanban teams and as other schedules require

• Maintain alignment with overall Product vision and roadmap to ensure capacity and resources support needs of Spire IT teams

• Close knowledge gaps and build highly skilled resource pools to support core technology solutions by enabling training and building strategic development plans

• Maintain collaborative partnership with leaders, as well as peers, to ensure timely resolution of pending issues, team performance is monitored, and objectives are realized

• Partner effectively with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to isolate any team level performance concerns, create remediation plans, and attend team ceremonies as needed to stay connected

• Set measurable performance objectives annually with a focus on career pathing and opportunities for individuals

• Lead by example, provide motivation to team members, and instill accountability

• Provide ample support as needed to ensure tools and resources are provided to team to be successful

• Participate and lead direct reports in developing and maintaining a roadmap for the technologies and solutions owned by this team

• Participate in the annual budgeting process for the Network, Server and Database Engineering team

• Respond timely to requests for information or action items from leadership team, peers and team members

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of large team of engineers across a variety of core infrastructure technologies

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

• Bachelor's degree in related field or extensive experience (5+ years) required

• 5+ years’ experience working on cross-functional, cross-geographical integrated systems and projects

• 5-8 years of progressive work experience playing an active role in technology delivery and/or business analysis

• Minimum 5 years in people leadership position, directly or indirectly

• Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and other Agile methodologies

• SAFe certification(s) a plus

• CISSP certification preferred

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

• Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Experience working collaboratively with technical, development and Product Management teams

• Working knowledge of virtualization, SD Wan, core network, firewall, automation, and database technologies with a focus on resiliency and disaster recovery

Physical demands, environment and schedule

• Hybrid Remote/Office environment

• Work performed primarily during business hours, with off-hours support required at times

• Some Travel may be required as ITS and teams are disparate across locations
