The Senior Manager will lead the team responsible for delivering IT solutions for SCE’s Grid Modernization Program, which includes six separate workstreams providing planning, engineering, and analytics capabilities for SCE’s Transmission & Distribution organization.
Grid Modernization is an SCE strategic initiative that will transform the capabilities of the electric distribution network to accommodate greater penetration of distributed energy resources (e.g., solar, wind, energy storage) and utilize the increased availability of smart grid field technologies.
The Senior Manager will partner with other key members of SCE’s Grid Modernization organization -- including IT Solutions Delivery managers, the Program Office team, organization & change management leads, and T&D business leads – to deliver integrated IT solutions for transforming SCE’s distribution grid. The selected candidate has to be able to integrate next generation technology touching upon concepts such as Edge Computing and Internet of Things (IOT).
This position will lead and have direct supervisory responsibility for a project team that includes four SCE project managers and a number of SCE analysts, as well as contract workers. This position will also work with 3 rd party software vendors for the successful implementation of IT software solutions.
The position will direct project planning, analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation for Grid Mod planning & analysis solutions. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
This individual will ensure that outcomes satisfy business/system requirements and quality targets, for a complex Grid Mod program with high technical complexity and cross-business functionality.
The position will partner and collaborate with other IT functions such as Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Service Management, and Solution Delivery.
This individual will be expected to lead presentations and discussions with senior management, business process owners, and key stakeholders.
Must have 5 years of experience leading projects or key business initiatives.
Must have 3 or more years of experience performing IT portfolio and customer relationship management.
Must have 3 or more years of experience developing strategic technology plans in support of key business objectives.
Must have 3 years of supervisory experience leading IT technical teams including establishing performance goals and performance evaluation of staff.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computing Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant technical discipline.
Graduate Degree in Business, Management, or relevant technical discipline.
7 years of experience working in Information Technology for an electric utility.
7 years of experience leading projects or key business initiatives.
5 years of IT portfolio and client relationship management experience for an electric utility.
5 years of experience developing strategic technology plans in support of key business objectives.
5 years of experience of project management of 3 rd party software implementations vendors.
