JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Provides oversight of implementation of capital and O&M projects at an Entergy Nuclear plant. Performs project cost and cash flow forecasts; supervises project installation and inspection activities; and implements projects in accordance with regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures projects achieve stated objectives, meet established schedules and are completed within approved authorizations and budgets. Ensures projects are implemented in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. Develops and maintains tools to improve the efficiency of performing project work.

Develops and maintains site asset management plans. Reviews and evaluates performance of the project staff and contractors.

Oversees procedures and documentation which govern and control project activities. Proposes project changes which improve efficiency and safety. Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of project activities.

Recommends necessary project training, as required. Review engineering work assignments to ensure the staff is responding appropriately to department and organizational needs.

Negotiate with venders to acquire parts and services. Coordinates activities to minimize plant and system downtime and maximize plant power generation.

Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position

B.S. degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline or equivalent experience. (Equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Manager level. A degree is very strongly preferred.)

Minimum experience required of the position

8 years experience in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations, production, or equivalent.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Technical proficiency in engineering project management. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills. Proficiency with current computer business applications.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Professional engineering license, SRO License or certification on a BWR or PWR (desired). ANSI Section 4.2.4 - Technical Manager. 8 years responsible positions related to power generation, of which 3 years shall be nuclear power plant experience. A maximum of 2 years of the remaining 6 years experience may be fulfilled by satisfactory completion of academic or related technical training.
