Act as Department Performance Improvement Coordinator (DPIC) as assigned to support selected department managers in their execution of the Entergy Standardized fleet procedures, processes and software tools used to implement the key programs for Corrective Action, Self-Assessment/Benchmarking and Trending.
Perform Department Training Coordinator activities to ensure Department Personnel Qualifications are achieved and maintained in accordance with procedural requirements.
Perform Department Watchbill Coordinator activities to ensure departmental personnel do not violate work hour rules established by NRC.
Screen Condition Reports for assignment, corrective actions and completion.
Perform, review and provide input to department Self-Assessments and benchmarks. Apply trend codes to issues documented in the Corrective Action Process and periodically review trend data to support department excellence plans. Works effectively with the Management Team setting priorities, allocating resources, and driving to operational excellence.
Develop and present data for the Department Performance Review Meeting on a quarterly basis.
Works with management to identify and address performance deficiencies. Recommends and implements actions to improve gaps to operational excellence. Recommends changes to existing methods, procedures, and processes to improve overall outage activities.
Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Observes and ensures compliance with procedures and policies. Assesses conditions and makes decisions under pressure and time constraints. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
Performs Root Cause and Apparent Cause Analyses to determine causes for Human Performance Errors and Events. Lead Root Cause and Apparent Cause Analyses Teams in the completion of Causal Analysis. Present findings and recommendation from Root and Apparent Causal Analysis to Station Management for approval.
Responsible for overseeing and performing department Watchbill Coordinator activities. Ensure personnel assigned to the department know and understand the Work Hour Rules for work in a nuclear power plant in accordance with Entergy Procedures.
M INIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
- Desired: B.S. Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent, or equivalent work experience
Minimum experience required of the position
Required: 5-10 years commercial nuclear power experience
Desired: Demonstrated experience in Corrective Action Program management.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
- Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Desired: outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills. Proficiency with current computer business applications.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
- Desired: SRO License or certification.
