Omaha Public Power District Senior Engineer (NERC Compliance) in Omaha, Nebraska

OPPD is looking to add a Senior Engineer to its NERC Compliance team! The Senior Engineer is responsible for the administration, analysis, development and oversight of internal programs and processes to ensure compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) Reliability Standards, policies and procedures. This position ensures that OPPD operates the transmission system reliably and in compliance with all applicable NERC regulations and standards.

  • NERC Compliance Program Administration and Development

  • NERC Auditing Administration

  • NERC Compliance Program Oversight

  • NERC Compliance Program Analysis

    Qualifications

Required:

  • Four (4) year Bachelor of Science Engineering or related degree (ABET - accredited degree)

  • Five (5) years of electric industry experience in engineering, operations or compliance (Master's degree may be considered for up to two (2) years of experience).

  • Professional Engineer's (PE) License, NERC or other relevant industry-level education / certification

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the utility industry and power generation

  • A valid driver's license

  • Acquire and maintain NERC Access to OPPD applicable facilities

Desired:

  • Knowledgeable of the Federal rule making processes

  • Four (4) years of experience with NERC Compliance

  • Master's Degree

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Demonstrated leadership of cross functional teams

Salary Grade: S6

Minimum: $104,645

Midpoint: $130,806
