Con Edison, a multibillion-dollar energy utility, is leading the clean energy transition in New York City and Westchester County. We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to integrate distributed resources into our electric and gas systems, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and scale adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies across our customers.

The Compliance Section Manager will work to prevent, detect and mitigate regulatory, financial, compliance and reputation risks in Distributed Resource Integration (DRI). The individual will ensure that the department adheres to best practices, Company policies and procedures, and regulatory rules and requirements in all aspects and levels of our business, as well as provide guidance on compliance matters.
The Compliance Section Manager will develop, implement and manage the department's compliance program. This includes, without limitation, conducting risk assessments, developing risk logs, developing appropriate policies and procedures, CEO certification oversight and engaging in monitoring and training activities to enforce the objectives of the program.
Additionally, the Compliance Section Manager will monitor continuously for new or amended laws and rules and regulations that may impact the program. The individual will provide regular reports on the effectiveness of the department's compliance measures, advise leadership of any actions or changes that should be implemented, and work to implement necessary changes. The Compliance Section Manager will also develop, coordinate and schedule required compliance trainings for department employees and strengthen the department's culture of compliance.
Oversee compliance activity for a portfolio of DRI programs and capital projects
Promote a strong code of ethics and integrity within the department's operations
Establish policies and procedures that ensures compliance-focused knowledge of department practices associated with program activity, including by existing audit results, required disclosures, and conducting appropriate risk assessments
Responsible for conducting the yearly Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) fraud risk assessment
Conduct independent testing and prepares risk logs and reports on risk findings based on best practices, Company policies and regulatory requirements
Design and implement controls, policies and procedures, action plans and mitigation strategies to address department risks, including policies, procedures, and training programs
Track the implementation of recommendations from audits and internal reviews and monitors activities to ensure continuous progress
Communicate the department's compliance activities to department leadership and employees
Consult with department personnel, including program managers, to recommend and assist with changes to policies and procedures based on risk assessments, monitoring and audit findings
Actively lead business initiatives while advising and assisting the business on change initiatives
Lead the departments responses to regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries
Prepare presentations and other compliance training materials for department trainings
Review and update compliance policies on an annual basis and based on risk assessments, reviews and audits of activities
Write department policies and procedures for employees to follow and serves as the main point of contact
Identify procedural improvements in high volume or risk areas and shares findings and participates in finding solutions
Carry out new ideas and designs to enhance processes, oversight, and tools
Regularly interact with all team members of the department and uses relationship skills to influence and achieve compliance objectives
Keep current on best industry practices and company and regulatory policies
Perform other related duties as assigned and required
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree and eight (8) years' work experience. or
Master's Degree and six (6) years' work experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
Master's Degree and six (6) years' work experience.
Juris Doctorate and six (6) years' work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
Must have at least 8 years of work experience Required

Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to see the big picture and attention to detail Preferred
Understanding DRI programs Preferred
Utility industry and knowledge of DRI a plus Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Driver's License Required
Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred
Other Physical Demands
Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
