Would you like to contribute to the protection of the environment and the operational reliability of our pipeline systems by maintaining all electrical and some mechanical aspects of the pipeline? The role of our Electrical Technician focuses preventative maintenance and repairs with little or no interruption to service. What you will do:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and testing on electrical and instrumentation equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment alarms and failures.

  • Assist with resourcing replacement parts

  • Coordinate planning necessary to perform repairs (Develop procedures & LOTO

  • Perform corrective maintenance/ repairs/ replacements on electrical and instrumentation equipment

  • Use maintenance software (Maximo) to document maintenance work.

  • Contribute to on-call rotation ensuring prompt response to Control center issues

  • Collaborate with the Technical Supervisor, other Electrical Technicians, Mechanical Technicians and otherstakeholders to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance work efficiently and effectively.

  • Maintain facility records and update drawings as required.

  • Maintain critical spare part inventories to minimize downtime.

  • Use predictive maintenance technologies (IR, PD, Vibration) to identify issues before they become critical

  • Ensure that Electrical maintenance work is performed in compliance with regulations and company O&Mprocedure requirements.

  • Resource and oversee contractor crews when required

  • Comply with Company safety and work policies.

  • Perform emergency response / first responder duties.

  • Maintain all Operator Qualifications OQ’s and technical competencies to perform major maintenance,repair and/or replacement of complex electrical equipment within the facilities.

  • Assist project teams: design reviews, hazard assessments, pre-bid tours, pre-construction meetings,electrical equipment installation, and equipment commissioning.

  • Communicate with and maintain a positive working relationship with the Control Center operators,Operations and Maintenance personnel, and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Comply with all DOT rules and regulations as they apply to pipeline operations.

  • Maintain company assigned vehicle with commuting privileges

Who you are:

You have the following education & experience:

  • Technical or Vocational education

  • Two or more years' industrial experience

  • Excellent trouble shooting ability.

  • Valid driver’s license & excellent driving record.

  • Must live (or relocate) within 25 miles of the reporting location.

  • Willing to travel.

Preferred:

  • Experience in maintenance of crude oil pipeline system, pumping station(s) or delivery facilities or certified technical designation.

  • Familiarity with pertinent equipment (pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, flow meters, programmable logic controls, motor control centers, uninterruptible power supplies and instrumentation).

Working Conditions:

  • Ocaasional work in extreme cold and extremem heat

  • Work often required in high noise level areas and areas where vapor from crude oil and solvents may be present.

  • Must possess and maintain an acceptable driving record

  • Overnight travel of 5-15 days per year may be required.

  • Occasional assistance to team members within daily driving radius.

  • Periodic contribution to 24/7 on-call rotation.

  • Primarily field oriented (outdoor) 75% with specific office (indoor) 25% functions for training, meetings and documentation of required tasks

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
