Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation Maintenance Support Worker I (Utility/Toolroom) in Burlington, Kansas
POSITION SUMMARY Clean and maintain power block, support tool room activities, support site sump pumping activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES Clean and maintain good housekeeping to ensure safe work areas in the power block and other plant buildings and areas. Duties to include Mopping, buffing, sweeping dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, and similar related duties.
Issue and receive, inspect and restock tools, equipment, harnesses, lanyards, and consumables from tool rooms. (Items requiring decon for Hot Tool Room will be handled by Health Physics department.)
Pumping vaults and manholes.
Issuing welding rod.
Inspect and maintain eyewash stations.
Perform Fire watch and escort duties.
Maintain and operate equipment used in all cleaning activities to ensure their operability and correct operation, including but not limited to, vacuum cleaners/sweepers, buffers and other items as necessary to complete assignments. Operate equipment for which qualifications have been obtained, to support other job descriptions as required (i.e., forklifts, hoist, mobile elevated platforms).
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management.
REQUIREMENTS This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Management has the right to require this position to pass and maintain respirator fit and qualification and/or heavy equipment screening physical/qualification when necessary. This is not an essential job function for every position, but management retains its rights to ensure adequate numbers of respirator-qualified personnel to meet station requirements.
This position requires a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
